IS THERE AN OPPOSITE TO LOVE?

Excerpt from "Love Abused"

Love sounds like a four letter word that wants to be used in a million ways
other that just a symbol for Lust

Love over the course of time has become a symbol for a three word phrase:  I want you.

But it doesn't end there.  I want you to want me too, cause the minute you don't,

my Love turns into a four letter word that wants to replace and erase the true meaning of Love with the word: Hate.

 Greetings Family!

1 Corinthians 13 reminds us of the unfailing power of love.  Yet, we sometimes determine that we can no longer love those who have not met our specific expectations.  Could it be that we view love as an entity that is insufficient, as opposed to the embodiment of who God is? REMEMBER; Love never wants for anything.  Love gives, while lust takes.

This really depends on who you are referring to. In the spiritual realm God is love but for someone that is longing for secular satisfaction love could be an entity that is insufficient. In my opinion when an individual does not have a relationship that encompasses true love (GOD) then the love they are seeking is insufficient or that love can tranform into that four letter word you are referring to "HATE".

Great topic and poem !!!!!

Exactly! It is almost impossible to love efficiently without the love of God. Thanks for engaging Ms. Colbert!

There is truly an opposite to love. Just as love is an emotion so is hate. Love is such a consuming and powerful emotion, and when you truly love someone you love with your whole heart. The same goes for hate, if you allow it it too can consume your every being and blind you from love. In my opinion love is a good emotion, and hate is a bad emotion. I refuse to allow hate to dwell in my heart and I pray for others not to do so also. God Bless. Diana you are SUPERB.

Hi Magda! You rocked out last night during the Island Star Finale. Keep believing...destiny will greet you. Most of us like to believe love is an emotion because of the feelings that arise. However, love is a state of being, just as God is love. As a result of the love that lives in us through God, we are able to feel and pour out into the lives of others. If love truly lives in you, it cannot be overshadowed by hate; for what does light have to do with darkness? Absolutely nothing! Thanks for sharing!
